Covid-19 Update 7/30/2021
Dear AGO Patients,
The Providers at Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics, PC want to let you know that the safety and well-being of our patients, their families, and our staff have always been, and continue to remain, our priority. Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases, we are implementing more strict guidelines for staff, vendors, and guests.
As the CDC recommendations related to COVID-19 continue to unfold, we will update our protocols and facility guidelines accordingly https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
To help reduce and prevent the spread of germs in our office, we are taking the following measures:
- All Providers and clinical staff will continue to wash their hands with soap, or medical-grade hand sanitizer, both before and after your visit.
- The Practice will continue to require “social/personal distancing” in our lobby waiting room.
- We encourage staff and our patients to obtain one of the FDA-approved Covid-19 vaccinations. All of the physicians, nurse practitioners, and midwives have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
- We have asked our staff who exhibit any symptoms of a respiratory illness to stay home until they are free of any fever or other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications or other symptom-reducing medicines.
- As always, we are stressing the use of handwashing for 20 seconds, avoiding touching your face, mouth, nose, and eyes, and the encouragement to use coughing and sneezing etiquette as demonstrated by the placards placed throughout our office. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pdf/protect/cdc_cough.pdf
- If you are sick (fever, dry cough, shortness of breath) or if you have traveled to a known “hot spot” or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, we ask you to reschedule your appointment.
- Currently, we are asking our patients NOT to bring anyone with them to the visit unless:
- You are under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you. If you arrive without a parent or legal guardian, we will have to reschedule your visit for a time when one can accompany you to your visit. *
- You have a disability. If you have a disability, a parent, guardian, or caretaker may accompany you. *
* In most situations, parents, guardians, spouses, and caretakers are not allowed in the exam room, but we can provide FaceTime while in the room with the Provider.
- Children are currently not allowed to accompany patients at their appointments.
- Upon arrival at our office, please give us a call from your car. The receptionist will provide you with further instructions at the time.
- Masks are required for everyone throughout the entire visit.
- As additional guidelines become available, we will alert you to these changes.
Note: Thus far, data shows that being a pregnant patient does not put you at any greater risk than the rest of the population. We want to reassure you that our hospital, Emory Decatur, is well prepared and conducting daily evaluations, and adhering to current Emory and CDC guidelines.
